Re: Occupy WD (rate the current firmware)

2- Best update yet

I have pretty much everything fixed that needed to be fixed for me. A little concerned that I have lost all my media on one drive 4 times but since I renamed the drive knock on wood no issues. It is amazing how so many people have problems that others don't. This tells me that it could be the network structuring file organization. For the longest time I had an ISO problem where it would lock up and freeze upon playing it The remedy was Preview mode I always felt it was somehow because I had all my movies straight on the root of the drive no folders. Since the newest firmware it has not once froze.

The added bonus of playlists working properly was huge

Re: Occupy WD (rate the current firmware)

Well WD,  I was going to go down to Best Buy today and buy one for a Christmas present to myself and now, after reading this forum, I'm going to look for something else. Now if THAT isn't enough to get you fix these problems, then you guys stink as a company.

Is great except for one thing - doesnt recognise my external usb Seagate 3tb HDD

But thats where the WD comes in handy, using it as a hub:smileyhappy:

When rating, could people add if they're using modified themes or the original?

Re: Occupy WD (rate the current firmware)

Can I go higher than 5?

Can I curse?

This thing just LOOKS nice when it powers on.

After that is smokes and giggles.

1) You never know when its gonna freeze
2) Optical doesn't work with HDMI

3) HDMI doesn't work with Optical

4) Mobile Device option reboots the Hub

5) Freezing and Rebooting by itself

6) Attempts to crash otherwise completely functional Windows 7 SP1 PC

7) Fails to Crash the PC so it crashes itself

8) Any drive connected to it must be Scanned for Errors when plugged back into Windows 7 PC

9) MultiChannel Issues with both HDMI and Optical

10) SLOW AS Watching Grass Grow Unresponsive Remote Control! What the ??? Why?

Anyways, Blow hard firmware.

Re: Occupy WD (rate the current firmware)

I rate it a 2.

Basically because, knock on wood, I have not had any of the issues that I have read here about rebooting etc. I don't feel like my hub was enhanced all that much, or hindered in any way. For my limited needs, which include playing audio in flac, video in various formats from remote machines, & a few online apps I use heavily (tunein, pandora, spotify), all seems to work fine, but no real upgrade from the previous FW. I guess I didn't really have any fixes I was hoping for or needed, and thus am fine with what we got.

Note that I use the Mojo Theme (much thanks to Tinwarble!) , and have a pretty basic stereo / TV setup. Most of my data is on a liveplus with external drives in another room that my HUB accesses.
