ISO hanging up.

Hi all.  I have been without my hub for a while due to the power switch bug, but have it back now.  I put all my files back on, and upgraded the firmware to the latest version.  Now I'm having new ISO playback problems.  These are files that once played fine.

All ISO's were ripped with DVDFab and created with Imgburn.  Some are Blueray rips of just the movie - no menu.  Some are DVD main movie and full disc.  They are all stored on the internal drive of the hub.

I first noticed during a blueray iso.  After pausing the video, it would not resume and gave me an error that it could not play this format.  A reboot of the Box fixed it.

The second time was of Starwars.  Seems to be hanging on the menu.  This is a full disc rip, including menus.  It starts to play, giving FBI warnings and starts the menu sequence then hangs and freezes.  I can't get the file to play.

I've searched the forum without a solution.

Any suggestions?

Jason

Re: ISO hanging up.

Why don't you try using the exact firmware version that you had before the replacement? o.o

Re: ISO hanging up.

I ran into a similar thing that would happen as you described Starwars doing. I found that it was the movie info that was causing this.

My solution was do delete the Coverart, metadata and any other data that was associated with the .iso.  Then when I played the file, it would play perfectly.

I can't tell you exactly what was causing the problem, but it seems that it was either the metadata xml or the .tgmd file created by Thumbgen.

I can tell you... :smileyhappy:    The HUB will often crash while watching ISO files if the BACKDROP images are 1920x1080 jpgs.  No issues with 1280x720 JPGs....   It usually happens wihtin minutes, depending on the slide-show settings and number of backdrops.

The hub doesn't use High-Def images when it creates its own XML files, so I kinda doubt that's the issue.

WHICH Star-Wars movie do you have ripped?  I have them all, so I can test for you...

Re: ISO hanging up.

Yeah, like I said, I'm not sure what was causing the problem, since compairing the xml created with Thumbgen and the one created with Get Info (which I know works) had the exact same <backdrop> data.  But I was leaning more towards it being a problem with having the .tgmd file.

Who really knows though, sometimes weird things just happen with the HUB, like last night I was watching RED and all of a sudden without me doing anything, then Gallery popped up.  Not that it went to the Gallery, it just came up with the movie playing in the background.

But I would delete the metadata xml for the movie and see if it will play, at least it will narrow things down and it's faster to get the info again than it is to re-rip the movie.

As for Star Wars, I have all of them as iso and haven't had any problems playing them.
