Keeping Hollywood separate from my home movies.

Just wondering,

Is there a simple way to separate Movies from Home movies. So that when you browse videos, movies are first and home movies second.  I have tried a couple of thinks, but have not had much success.

Thanks.

Re: Keeping Hollywood separate from my home movies.

I guess you could add zz_ to the front of all the home movie file names.

My Favorite solution create a playlist but if you are using an older firmware version playlist may restart at about 60 ish titles and start over

Why not just organise them into their own folder and then when browsing movies apply filter by Folder option?

Or you could create your own xml file for your home movies and set the genre to Home Movies and then filter by Genre?

Re: Keeping Hollywood separate from my home movies.

Rename Home Movies to Personal Movies or My Movies.

Give a man a Bundle and he'll be able to create moviesheets for one theme. Teach a man to setup Thumbgen and he'll be able to create moviesheets for any theme. If something doesn't work, read the instructions. If it still doesn't work READ the instructions again.

Re: Keeping Hollywood separate from my home movies.

If you change the first letter of the home movies file names to lower case, they will sort after the files starting with upper case letters.

This might vary depending on what View you're using.

I like this answer. I have my movies seperated by genre, one of them being my "Home Movies". When browsing by folder I see the list of genres something like this:

Action

Comedy

Drama

Foreign

Home Movies

Mystery

Each folder has a "folder.jpg" so I can see the genre graphicaly. I do use XML files as well to give them descriptions / covers etc. Works pretty well

Good luck
