Why use custom firmware when the WD firmware already does this?

The main figure in WD TV custom firmwares is B-Rad and his WDLXTV firmwares.

 

Last I heard, he had no intention of creating custom firmwares for the Hub because of the way WD have booby-trapped the Hub to permanently remove the ability to use Netflix and other services when 3rd party firmware is loaded. 

 

However, as Tony points out, the Hub already loads movie info and covers.  

Users are also working on working better moviesheet views into custom themes.  Check out the Theme sub-forum.
