Now it works in dvd files (.ISO files and VIDEO-TS folder), but don't works in MKV

ps. this idea is also actual to MKA, TS and other containers that support the chapters

This sort of conflicts with the original purpose of NEXT/PREV which is to skip to the next or prev file. We'll evaluate this.

Agreed. This also seems to be an issue with MP4.

There should be no confilct.  This works on my Seagate Freeagent Theater +.  It works by pressing the prev/next button once skips to the next/previous chapter.  By fast double pressing the the next/prev button it jumps to the next file.

or

short press the button - navigate by chapter
long - navigate to files

or  that there was no conflict

long press the button - navigate by chapter
short - navigate to files

but I think better to do, to navigate in all containers that support the chapters (iso, video-ts folder, mkv, mka, ts, m2ts etc) was the same

Why not use the  |<< and >>| buttons for chapters like they do in ISO, "NEXT" and "PREV" can remain the file buttons.  MKV currently only supports chapter switching via the 'options' button.

Currently, ">>|" seems to switch files in MKV and then get stuck in that mode (even if it switched to an ISO).

I don't see that using prev/next to navigate chapters in an mkv file is in conflict with the original purpose of those buttons.  Part of the appeal of using mkv is the fact that you can have all the features of a dvd (subtitles, chapters, multiple audio tracks) without the mess of having multiple VOB files, ifo files, etc.  When playing a dvd, prev/next does mean go to the prev/next chapter - unless you're already in the last chapter, in which case it means go to the next file.  Having it work this way in mkv files as well is both intuitive and competitive  (Seagate and Patriot both work that way - probably others too).  Please make this change with the next firmware release!

I agree with comments to use transport control buttons |<< and >>| to navigate chapters within a movie file and reserve the menu navigation buttons < and > for moving to the next or previous file.
