Numeric sorting (ie 1 as 01)

Hello,

Currently, when files (for example episodes) have numbers and the first 1 - 9 have only one character, they aren't sorted properly. This is how it sorts:

..

..

30

.. and so on.

Wouldn't it be more logical to do it like this:

3

4

..

9

10

11

.. and so on.

This is easy to implement and i'm sure that even if this idea doesn't get any kudos everybody is helped with it and it wouldn't affect anybody in a bad way.

Yep. I hate that. I didn't name the files originally, so I have to go in and fix everything numbered as 1, 2, 3, as 01, 02, 03, etc.

Highly recommend using  Batch Renaming software to rename your numbers (download one that will also do Subfolders too) 

Manually renaming them would be an arduous task.

Actually, this is one of the problems that would be solved by my suggestion about sorting by file names instead of title in the XML file - just added.

To add insult upon injury, the unit messes up the sort order if the names were correct to begin with. Seems that it has an auto renaming feature that doesn't work too well. For instance if the original names were The Show  01x09 and The Show 01x10, the new names become The Show season 1 - 10, The Show season 1 - 9! Even more annoying since the names were good before that.

life could be worse... the little cyclone media players from sumvision would sort the files randomly (i think in order that they were copied to the harddrive)

so you'd get 04, 06, 02, 01, 09, 10

the only workaround was to put a letter at the front of the title

a dexter s01e01

b dexter s01e02

etc!
