Hello WD, I think it would be great to have a "TV Shows" in the menu, so you can chnge "video" to "Movies" and also have showing "TV Shows" in the menu.....

I really dont understand how hard that would be, but I really think it would be VERY useful to everybody...

you could maybe have the Hub search for a "Movies" folder in the hard drive and anything in that it could list it under "Movies" and then have a "TV Shows" folder and anything in that could be listed under "TV Shows".....

what do you think people?

many thanks...

this is an awesome idea. I think I already requested it, or I meant to anyways... either way its a must have. I hate TV being lumped in with my movies

Just got mine today and agree this would be very useful, and something surely anyone using the hub would want.

You could still have the option for a folder view, available for people to organise files how they like, but maybe you could add a media view to say two new menu options Tv Series and Movies, that only shows the media in those screens and recognise one tv series as a whole.

Also having in support to pull data frr thetvdb.co would really round this feature off.

How would it know the difference between a TV show and a Movie?

In the Setup section.

Add the option "to tell" the TV Show "button" in which folder to look for video files ... If not set de TV Show button will not show up in the Main menu.

I would say have some tag sort for it or something.  Having them only broken into video is what I need and splitting off into tv would just cause additional annoyance.  Any other sorting I do manually with folders.  The option to clump it the way you want I could vote for, but not adding a TV section.

If you have your drive networked, and you are using Windows 7, you can manage all your folders and files right from windows.  So its no problem to create a separate MyTV and MyMovies folder under the main WDTVLiveHub folder.  When ripping TV shows from DVD in the .VOD format, in your MyTV folder, just make sure you put  a folder with the name of the show.  Then folders like Season 1, Season 2, Season 3.  Assuming four disks per season, in Season 1: Disk 1, Disk 2, Disk 3, Disk 4.

When you go to MyTV/Showname/Season1/     You'll see just one file Icon for Disk 1..assuming it works right, when you click on it, you should either get the menu for Season 1's disks, or the episodes will keep playing back to back until Disk 1 is finished.

If you want to should each individual episode as a file.. You will need to create more episode folders in Disk1's folder.  You can either name them episodes 1-4, or use their actual episode names.  Then put your .Vod files for each chapter into the appropriate episode folder.  This can be a little tricky, as the file numbering system in .Vod files is not always obvious... but if you sort your DVD's files by size..the biggest .Vod files tend to be your episodes.   So you can then technically figure out their numbering order based off of that and rename them once they've been copied to their folders.
