Re: Æonish Hub - Final Release

hi any chance of getting this to work with SMP? It looks like a great theme and currently SMP owners are starved off themes and need to start from scratch if we were to make ones ourselves. Thank you!

Re: Æonish Hub - Final Release

see post #1:

THIS IS A 'MOVIESHEET' THEME AND IS DEVELOPED FOR THE WDTV LIVE HUB

FIRMWARE REVISION 2.04.13  and  FIRMWARE REVISION 2.07.17

NO COMPATABILITY  SUPPORT FOR WDTV STREAMING MEDIA PLAYER (SMP)

(This Theme is designed for the Western Digital Live Hub Media Player)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joey does not not own an SMP so cannot design for an SMP.

That being said the SMP is apperantly VERY similar to the hub running same firmware versions. If you are running 2.07 or 2.04 on your SMP you can download, zip just the theme files (i believe the folders and files inside the theme folder, not the theme folder itself) then load the zip to the SMP should work. Others have gotten it to work. i also do not own an SMP and im only going by posts I 'READ'. Also since Joey does not own an SMP if you notice any issues with the theme while its loaded he will be unable to support it(unless possibly if the same issue is discovered on the hub as well)

Re: Æonish Hub - Final Release

hi drizzt09. I know I saw it on the 1st page. I guess I was just desperate since in the SMP forum, we are told to come here for themes and when we come here we are told there is nothing for SMP.

Right now the only option we have is MOJO - not a bad theme mind you but themes' are like art isn't it; all subjective to taste.

Thanks anyway.

Re: Æonish Hub - Final Release

Hey  just2011

I do not own the SMP but LordKimbo wrote on page 65 of this thread-

"Thank you for the update.

I loaded it onto my SMP to see what would happen.  It loaded fine and works better than the previous release!  What a pleasant surprise.  I'm running the new firmware that came out a day or two ago for the SMP.

This version works great for the home screen menu.  And pretty much perfect for the SETUP menus (the old version didn't work properly on SMP).  I like the small change to the Services/Online thumbnails.  Shows them better on the big screen.  There are one or two smal things here and there and I need to play around with new thumbnails for movie and music ... but for the most part, this update with the latest SMP firmware is completely usable!"

On this basis I would strongly recommend that you download Joey's Aeonish theme for FW version 2.07.17 and give it a try for yourself. (providing you are running on the firmware version that Lordkimbo is referring to for the SMP)

Perhaps Lordkimbo can confirm which FW he is running the SMP? If he doesn't it would be worth cross referencing point in green above to find out. If you can get it working it will certainly be worth it!!!

Hi architectonic. Thanks for that. I will take a look but I think I tried several themes yesterday and they all give me the invalid file message. But I will have a chat with Lordkimbo as well.

Currently trying my hands on creating a theme for smp as well - but taking ages as I don't know where to start. I am trying to start at the home screen 1st. :smileyhappy: Thanks !!

I am trying to start at the home screen 1st.

A "Cautionary Tale"  (i suspect this would apply to the SMP as well)

Thought i "bricked" the Hub on the Second day of owning the thing.

[ Edited ]

Tried And Tested this on the SMP ( REVISION 2.07.17)

Firmware 1.05.18

Works 100% no issues to report here.

Keep in mind that to get this to upload to your SMP, extract the original rar to its folder, then go inside this folder and highlight all and add to archieve(winrar) and change it to ZIP, renaming the rar to zip does not work, Then just upload the new zip you created. (Note IE,Chrome wouldnt upload it , just stuck on the waiting screen, however firefox gave me success.

Hi madweegie. Thanks for all that. I did it just then. I must have stuffed up completely somewhere yesterday. Thanks again. Thanks Joey for the great theme as well, being able to see it on the big screen is quite something else. :smileyhappy:

Re: Æonish Hub - Final Release

I am running the 1.05.18 on my SMP that was released Dec 2011.  That's the one I was referring to.

Moviesheets don't work properly because of same issues with HUB firmware and how it looks at the Thumbgen creations.  But viewing movies in other means like List, etc seem to work OK.  For that matter, it could be loaded on the HUB I think and it may be OK less the movie sheets view.  Not sure though.

i'd say the latest iteration of this theme works well enough on SMP with latest firmware (Dec 2011) that it is certainly usable!  :smileyhappy:

Thanks!
