Yup 1.5, on my unit seems no different than 1.4 and may even be a tad slower at getting the backdrops on the screen. Ok counting 1001, 1002,1003, I press the right arrow button and move the marker over a cover. As soon as I press the button I start the count. V1.4 I got to 5 or 6 on some (seems movies with longer names take more time) on V1.5 it's like 6 to 7. But like I say there are a lot of button presses that are taking more than one press to achieve the purpose of the button press. I will change the batteries in my remote today just to make sure that's not the problem BUT it's also happenning with my Harmony 880 so....

Movie sheet behavior is the exact same. It if anything I would be faster due to more memory resources. Then again I don't know your firmware version and how messed up your library is or if you don't use the library. However from the info you just gave me you should unplug your power chord and delete all the thumb folders and the mil crawler cache beforehand. After the reboot it will be faster, it simply can't be slower

Hi,
Thanks for the new theme update.
I'm guessing (but please correct me if I'm wrong'), that it is not strictly necessary to re-generate the movie-sheets and XML files with the V1.5 Thumbgen templates. I note that your release details indicate 'XML optimizations', but I assume that is in the theme processing of the XML...?
I'm going to have (another) go at generating my own Genre thumbnails in the next week or so e.g. Sports with a UK bias
. I have had one attempt but it was rubbish - I couldn't work out how to do the layer blending properly. I'm using Photoshop Elements 7. I think it's a case of 'Operator Incompetence' as I'm sure even PSE would have such capabilities.
Cheers
Bodders
If this helped, please consider giving Kudos, thank you...

Its impossible that 1.4 is still running as it was deleted after I installed 1.5.
Yup they do move differently as you say.
FW is 2.07.17
Media library is OFF
I deleted the thums folder and then powered down the unit for a fresh thum cache
I did not delete the micro crawler but I will and I will delete the thumb folder again at the same time.
It is hanging when navigating from the 3rd cover to the 4th cover in every genere folder on my unit. It also hangs frequently when going left after going right.
its a mystery to me....

to me too, maybe it's the old firmware, after all the theme is displaying 16 thumbnails instead of the intended 7, maybe the memory management has improved, i wouldn't know, all I know is that there should be no interruption of the flow when browsing folders without movie sheets and if you are browsing folder with movie sheets there should be no big problem either as long your toggle fast enough before the movie sheets activates. If you are using my theme, no PNG covers and have the library off why sticking with the old firmware?

I'm sticking with the old FW because of the SAOD (Spinning Arrow of Death). When I ran any of the 3.xx versions some video files that will play with 2.xx FW will cause the hub to stop playing ANY media and give me nothing but the SAOD until I power the Hub all the way down and reboot it. Doesn't happen with 2.xx. I like the features of the 3.xx fw but I can't deal with rebooting the Hub everytime it finds a file, for whatever reason, it doesn't like.
It's not having any problem when it's showing just the genre folder art. The problems occur when I go into a genre folder and start displaying sheets. The remote will require 2 right arrow commands to go from the 3rd movie to the 4th movie almost everytime when you first enter the genre folder. You have to go from cover to cover allowing the sheet to fully load for each movie. Once it's happened you can go from cover to cover and you MIGHT not have it happen again until you leave that folder and come back into it. I also notice SOME sheets are taking as much as 10 seconds or so to display. It seems these are usually files that have long titles....I dunno....maybe I should roll back to 2.04 then come back to 2.07 as I read somewhere that something gets messed up going all the way to 3.xx then back to 2.07. I think it was joey or Tin that posted something about that.....getting too old to remember all this stuff. If WD would just fix the FW we would all be fine.

always find it astonishing to read all these firmware problems that never occured to myself. On a positive note my theme doesn't have an arrow. ![]()
As for the weird navigation behavior, this is the fastest I ever managed to get it to work and I was testing aproximately 20 hours with different versions and eventually decided for a code that does not even make too much sense which I used as a desperate long shot, however for some reasons the lag was gone.
I have no idea if the old firmware is trying to make sense of it or not, frankly I can't make it 100% right for everyone and if the old firmware can't handle it fast enough then this is sad but I can't help it except going back to 7 thumbnails which I don't consider an option right now. I always use the newest firmware and I never had a problem with ANY of my files and 10 seconds for a movie sheet is outrageous, the longest it ever took on my hub was 6 seconds and that was when I tested a folder with 200 movie dummies and the hub started to lag after loading a a bunch of sheets.
My hub crashed 5 times on me because of corrupt files in an entire year, i would have never thought of rolling back my firmware I was replacing the file with an uncorrupted version or fixed it, I have to programs called DivFiXPP and Project Meteorite for MKV files, in the meantime I don't have Avi files anymore due to lack of quality but I have sucessfull fixed recent mkv files with Meteorite. Maybe an option for you in order to get a faster hub to fix your corrupt files.

I dont know why but it doesnt work for me with the FW 3.xx Firmware.
I followed your manual stept by step and went through it again and again but the movie sheets are not shown.
The Demo Moviesheets seem to work though. ![]()
Any idea what could be the reason?
Another question, are those sheets in 720p resolution? Is it possible to somehow "render" them in 1080p?
Thanks in advance.

Pick one of your films and list all the files you have for it. A missing XML file can make all the difference.
All the setup for Menus etc are all designed round 720p. Even if you could, which I doubt, everything would need to be made bigger, and this would grind the Hub to a halt.
