Re: BLACK MAMBA V1.5 (Theme Update April 27th 2012)

I took this out because it wasn't important for me, it will be taken out in the other views as well, I want nothing "computerish" left and just keep the entertainment.

Re: BLACK MAMBA V1.5 (Theme Update April 27th 2012)

HI DeVicious

I'm the proud owner of a SMP and i got a question i dont think is SMP specific :smileywink:

I got Tv Shows ripped from DVD's

So they are named like this.

Folder structure is like this

Gilmore Girls /

                        Season 1 /

                                           Gilmore.Girls.S1D1.DVD.Iso

                                           Gilmore.Girls.S1D2.DVD.Iso

                                           Gilmore.Girls.S1D3.DVD.Iso

                        Season 2 /

                                           Gilmore.Girls.S2D1.DVD.Iso

                                           Gilmore.Girls.S2D2.DVD.Iso

ect....

Is it possible to get your TV show templates to work with these files or do i have to figure something out on my own ?

Preferable the Sheet file should show the 3 Episodes on each disk instead of one episode when having each episode as a single file.

Hope you understand my question.

Thanks in advance

Kraust.

Re: BLACK MAMBA V1.5 (Theme Update April 27th 2012)

[ Edited ]

Obviously the sheets are made for one episode each for that matter you wont be able to use these sheets without massive editing....

there are 2 commands to use for TV Series season that you can include in Thumbgen and Thumbgen Designer which is

%EPISODENAMESLIST%

%EPISODELIST%

this however shows an entire season

You would have to do your own templates for each disk and enter the titles manually,

Frankly this whole ISO scenario is far from ideal and kind of redundant because nothing plays a DVD better as your DVD player, you are wasting HDD space, your WD devide slows down immensely and the movie sheets "kinda" work by chance. I had nothing but problems with ISO files and movie sheets for that matter is ignored the DVD/ISO player design since I don't endorse it in this theme. Whenever i tried an Iso file the menus were gone and depending how a DVD is authored there is quite the chance the titles won't display in the apropriate order.

Hardware and software in 2012 is so indredibly fast it would make A LOT more sense to rip your DVD into avi or mp4 while mp4 is on the rise right now since the file size is much lower and quality is better compared to avi and you can watch the files on your smart phone or iPad as well. I would bet you a bag of "candy" :smileyvery-happy: that you rip those discs faster to individual epsiode files as doing these movie sheets given the fact that you have to design them first and enter all the info individually which I am not very sure how that would even work or if it works at all. All I know is how to display an entire season. If there is no menu to select an individual episode the whole navigation becomes "criminal" It reminds me on the Inception movie where they launch a dream within a dream, that is pretty much what you are trying to do here. :smileyhappy:

My strong recommendation is to use your DVD player and use your SMP for what it is intended to do or to rip the files overnight while you are in bed into an appropriate file and give your HDD some space

Re: BLACK MAMBA V1.5 (Theme Update April 27th 2012)

Hi Again and thanks for the fast response.

Yes i also had the impression that ripping the episodes is the fastest and most efficient thing to do.

One thing tho, The smp plays ISO's perfectly with menus ect. so that would not be an issue.

Was simply if there was a foolproof fast way to do it i would do it, but i guess ripping is the way forward :smileyhappy:

Thanks again for you fast response and Kudos for a great Theme, even for the SMP :smileyhappy:

For instance, American Dad!   when the name is added to the series folder image, it has !American Dad and the show The River (2012)    appears like this (The River (2012 any ideas?

it's a thumbgen Glitch I had that with the TV series Touch, you need to do this in Semi Auto mode anyways and need to edit it out

Re: BLACK MAMBA V1.5 (Theme Update April 27th 2012)

I'm new to installing themes, and I am average when it comes to computer knowledge,

So I figured out how to install a theme (Darklight) I downloaded, by moving the theme folder into the theme folder on my WD Live TV hub.

I CANNOT for the life of me install BLACK MAMBA theme. When I download the Winzip file (BLack Mamba bv DeViicious Theme Pack V1.5.rar ) and I open it, all I see is a whole bunch of files, starting with template.xml.backup and then thumbs.db, then what appears to be a bunch of movie covers. I CANNOT Find the BLACK MAMBA theme folder to move into my WD LIVE TV HUB.

Someone please explain to me where I can download the file I need and or if I'm doing something wrong?

And I tried searching for Black Mamba download and cant find it, and I read many pages of this post without finding it.

Thanks in advance.

You won't find anything in this thread about your problem since this begins with unpacking the rar file.

From what I gather you have extracted the "BLack Mamba bv DeViicious Theme Pack V1.5.rar" in to one big bowl of file salad. Frankly I cannot reproduce that result.

I see you called it a Winzip files while it is a WinRar file, if you have used Winzip there might be the problem

download WinRar for free at http://www.rarlab.com/ ... install it and unpack the rar file by using the context menu (right click / Extract Here) the main folder with 4 subfolders will be created and you should be able to recognize things from there.

Not working this is happening based on time stamp on the hard drive not air date / release date

The hub also is significantly slower triggering the movie sheets and when navigating :smileysad:

Have you tried this TV Scraper?

Instead of generating xml's with ThumbGen you can make them with this thingie. It produces almost the same xml's as the build-in one on the Hub. Only thing that needs to be edited is the <backdrop></backdrop> line to the Moviesheet generated with ThumbGen ...

Re: BLACK MAMBA V1.5 (Theme Update April 27th 2012)

It worked after I extract the files using winrar.

Thank you! Awesome theme by the way. Keep up the good work.

Now if I could figure out how to use thumbgen, lol. I'll give it a shot from your guide!
