I have a question about TV Shows.

In order to get the correct information about TV Show Specials, you have to use the .S00E01 format. The sheets and covers then have Season 0 - Episode 1 etc. and the season thumb has Season 0.

Is there a way to change that, manually or maybe in the templates so that is sais Specials - Episode 1 and for the season thumb Specials?

Technically you should be able to change it in semi auto mode in the collectors output if you scroll down a little there is the Season and Episode info.

I took the 3 templates holding the "Season" name in it, changed the Text= to SPECIALS, made new profiles accordingly and that seems to work somehow :smileyhappy:.

The TV3 Series Thumb template didn't have Season in it so i left that untouched., but that's the one that makes the cover for a complete series if i'm correct so that doesn't need changing.

I tried your solution but that only changes the numbers of an season or episode? Or i am looking in the wrong place?

Re: BLACK MAMBA V1.5 (Theme Update April 27th 2012)

you can do the thumbnail with the series template, just change the name, did that for Spartacus because Thumbgen doesn't know Season 1.5 :-)

yeah well this is a tricky one with Spartacus... :smileytongue:

the special season was a filler when Andy Whitfield passed away, they couldn't shoot Season 2 without a new Spartacus

so they decided to follow the story that leads to the Gladiator school.... Technically it is Season 0 but it starts with scenes from the season finale of season 1, for that matter i have named it 1.5 just to make sure nobody in my household (my puppy and me) watch it first and spoil the entire outcome of season 1. And yes i heard myself, i am a dork. :smileylol:

I have a SMP and am having trouble installing this theme. When I try to upload it (zip file) appears an error message "Invalid file, please correct file." This error also occurs with the theme Surreal.

Other themes like Mojo and Darklight install normally.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Sorry for my English ...

Thx!

Download the ZIP file referred to on the first page of this thread and use that. Make sure that the structure of the file you 'offer' to the SMP is such that if you were to open it you would see 2 folders and 64 XML files i.e. no intermediate 'top' folder. Likely as not you tried to create your own Theme zip file and (like I did the first time round), zipped the outside folder rather than going INTO the folder (with the 66 files) and then running your zip command ther.

It is odd why it makes a difference - but it does.

Re: BLACK MAMBA V1.5 (Theme Update April 27th 2012)

Hi, I'm new to this theme but been using themes for years but the last theme I was using is not compatible to the latest firmware upgrades.

So I did some research and the Black mamba theme is awesome so I upgraded my firmware to the latest, installed the theme, opened the tutorial and printed it, followed it step by step, my settings are exactly like the tutorial (double and tripple checked) and I have no thumbnails.

The folders thumbnails are showing, the background is showing but no thumbnail for the movies, they should be showing with the Blue Ray Rip but nothing at all !

I dont know what to do, need help.

WDTV Live Hub (downloaded the right  Devicious Black Mamba zip file, not the smp)

Current Firmware - 3.05.10

ThumbGen 1.2.8

and yes I have all the DVD's . . .

and btw . . .  at work we have photoshop 5 and when I import the photoshop master from the thumbnail folder (which was made in photoshop 4) the settings for the font (text) layer are not compatible and I cannot replicate the exact font art used in the theme to make my own folder art that is not included in the folder . . . please help there too !

I'll post a pic in here . . .

Concerts.jpg

as you can see, I made a nice font but cant get it just like the theme, that's what I would like to do and also, how do you get to have such vibrant colors when I have to drop the opacity to like 30% to be able to see the snake scales through it, even after playing with the colors and saturation, it's not as great as the art in the supplied folder.

please help me !!!!!!!!!!  I'm going crazy !!!!!!!!!!!  and i'm now missing hair on my head cause i rip it out out of frustration !!!!!!!!!

I have an unconfirmed suspicion about the thumbnails not showing but we are going to try the easy solution first and hope it is a cache problem. Please rename your "Concert" folder to anything you want (temporarily) while the hub is at the home menu. Then go back and try again. If that helped delete your library and let it rebuild and see if the other thumbnails show up now after rebooting the device. Delete the .wd_tv\thumb folder before you reboot. If this doesn't work we need to make some renaming of your file.

About the photo shop....

I will put a concert image in my next update. I am not using photo shop because i see no point in spending 5 times the money on product that is worse as others. I realize there are way too many steps in between to explain the procedure to make it look the same. The image is set to an overlay blending effect and the font is a simple plastic / emboss effect desaturated to a color close to gold. However you will nto achieve it from explaining, i am playing with this style for more than 10 years and that cannot be passed on in 1 minute. I will make an image with the next update which is coming this month.

Re: BLACK MAMBA V1.5 (Theme Update April 27th 2012)

Well, here goes, I tried it anyway, I renamed the folder to "Concrete" and it saw it, recompiled the library, still no thumbnails.

I did do the clear library and deleted all the wd folders before hand . . . when I updated the firmware and installed the black mamba theme .  . .

If I have to, I'll wipe the drive and start over . . .

but I dont really stomach it . . . :smileyhappy:

I made a couple of dummy files based on your file name and it worked.

I would of guess it is a cache problem but if renaming the folder didn't work this can't be it, unless you are not telling me that a few thumbnails are showing like "David Gilmour".. just to confirm... none of them is showing, right?

Here is what you gonna do,

# turn the library off and and see if the thumbs show up

# if there is still nothing unplug the power chord

# if they still don't show rename the folder to something you haven't used before

# if there is still nothing rename one or 2 thumbnails from .jpg to .metathumb

# if that doesn't work either there is a last resort possibility...

rename the AC/DC to "ACDC.Live.at.Donington.BDrip.avi"..... generate a new thumbnail, sheet etc and see if that works, if there is still nothing your firmware might be borked, in this case roll back and install again, if that ultimatively still doesn't work there must be something wrong with the device, like I said it works for me, I had the suscpicion that the names don't work because of the brackets and lack of dots between the words in order for the thumbnail jpg to be always the first file in the chain of the 4 files, which would show when you rename as suggested above. However if none of this works something is wrong. If there are a couple of thumbnails showing and you didn't tell me then it would be most definately the name thing.

You kinda answered that already but I am asking anyways.... the thumbs are generated with my templates right? These are not older thumbnails that used to be png files and were renamed to jpg, right?

Good Luck

Re: BLACK MAMBA V1.5 (Theme Update April 27th 2012)

nah, there are no thunbs for movies or tv series on the entire drive, only the folder.jpg show, and the backgrounds of course but no thumbnail art for any movies.

I'll try what you said, step by step, and I'll post back, a corrupted firmware file is grinding in the back of my head also . . . Cheers.
