Re: Darklight for SMP (Beta)

   Hi,

I think I may have done something wrong, although not quite sure, but I`ve come to ask for some guidance. I have a few questions.

 1. I have been creating Movie sheets for all my movies, but I have noticed that on the WD when my movies shows up, the backdrop picture I have chosen keeps switching between the cover picture I chose. I followed the tutorial steps for that section about 3 times and I`m not sure what I have done wrong?

2. I have all the dirty harry movies in a folder called " dirty harry box set ". What happens is, the cover picture I chose shows up on the folder containing the movies, but not on the movie file itself. How do I get it to show up on the movie as well?

3. Can I find and download my own Covers, then choose them inside Thumbgen? Thumbgen can`t seem to find

BBC - Life.

Sorry for all the questions.

 Cheers Ash

Re: Darklight for SMP (Beta)

Hi vy_ss,

1. As stated on the first post:

To make moviesheets/backdrops semi-static, on the HUB, select Setup, then select Photo Settings.  In the Photo Settings menu, select "Slideshow Transition" and set it to "Fade", then select "Slideshow Interval Time" and set it for "5 minutes".

2. Do you have a seperate image for your folder named "folder.jpg" and seperate thumbs for each movie?  What format are your movies.

3. You have to make sure your name is right on your files and make sure that you have "thetvdb.com" selected as your collector (and only it).  Your files and folder stucture should be like this:

BBC Life (folder)   or you should be able to use "Life (2009)"

   Season 1 (folder)

        Life.S01E01.avi

        Life.S01E02.avi

        etc.

Re: Darklight for SMP (Beta)

  Thanks for the reply,

I think I have everything sorted, just one other thing. I downloaded your Genre folder icons, I put the movie jpeg in my movies folder, and rename it to folder.jpg, but it shows up on the folder that contains music, movies,tv shows, not the actual movie folder itself.

Sorry to be asking what seems like stupid questions.

 Cheers Ash

Re: Darklight for SMP (Beta)

I'm not really sure what your saying.

Do you have separate folders named Music, Movies, TV Shows?  And are you saying that it is showing on the main folder containing these folders?

In other words is your file stucture like this:

Main folder

       Movies (folder)

              folder.jpg

       Music (folder)

              folder.jpg

       TV Shows (folder)

              folder.jpg

Also, do you have your media library turned on and your content source set to "My Media Library"?

Re: Darklight for SMP (Beta)

Hi All,

I am loving the Darklight theme.  Kudos to you TW!!!!  The only drawback i am struggling with is the load times of the various imagery used.  I find too often when using the carousel type presentation wtih the movie details, most of the cover boxes are not loading until i select (Instead always get the reel).  Too the point that i have for the time being reverted back to turning library off and just mapping each time to the folder i require...  Not fun for the rest of the family who do not always know the steps..

Re: Darklight for SMP (Beta)

@timmer,

I suppose that you are either accessing a NAS or your PC.  Yes this is a drawback because the firmware doesn't cache the thumbs to a network drive like it does to an attached drive.

The only way that is caches when accessing a network drive is internally, and the internal cache is limited and temporary.  Hopefully this will get corrected, but who knows.:smileysad:

Re: Darklight for SMP (Beta) - (UPDATED 7-17-12)

First of all Tinwarble, thanks for a great theme and your valiant efforts in solving peoples issues - epic.

I have this theme running exactly as shown in your screenshots by using Thumbgen as described but correctly generated sheet does not appear for a couple of seconds, up to this point the background is black.

Is this because all of my content is on NAS boxes?

If so, If I put then on a USB HD attached locally would this cure it?

I haven't tried it as it will mean a lot of messing around moving backup files from one place to another to free the drive up and I do not want to go down that route if it ends up making no difference.
