I should of invested the 80$ more to get a Boxee...

After countless times that my Media Libray compilation froze on me,

after finding out you cannot add a web service such as Tou.tv

after finding out that I have to download myself the subtitle files,

after experiencing fatal error every other video I listen to,

after many hours of trial and error, and forum digging troubleshooting,

.....I should of invested the 80$ more to get a Boxee.

The Boxee has a much better UI - not only in terms of functionality but also from an aesthetic perspective.

However, the Boxee cannot utilize 3TB external HD's which was a deal breaker for me being that I have 2.

Also, the Boxee has known playback issues that have not been addressed. I could be wrong, but I think it has audio drop-out issues. You might want to do some research on that first.

Otherwise It definitely seems like a solid choice.

Personally if I were you, I'd go for a PCH A-300.

Why not include the subtitles when you rip the DVD? No need to download anything.

Really? For websh!t maybe. All my rips come with their original subs.

Right. And good luck with 80$ more spent and all the bugs the Boxee still has.

Cdn_Guy,

There are millions of video streaming boxes containing the Sigma chip on the market. It is strange that no-one else is complaining about the same issues. Maybe a case of nothing wrong with the WDTV Live SMP; the owner did not read the user manual or knows how to rip DVD’s and blurays.

Don’t talk about it, sell the WDTV Live SMP and purchase the Boxee. I bet you will experience the same issues with the Boxee and post on the Boxee forum complaining about your Boxee purchase.
