Issues with HD MP4 & MKV files

I bought this last week, and connected it up to my Nas drive and it worked perfectly, streaming any files i could throw at it over the network. 

 

i've downloaded some files recently, MKV's and MP4 that had a couple 1000 seeds and no bad feedback on the files and the WDTV refuses to play any of them. It's like anything new I download just refuses to play. 

 

any ideas?

after some more investigating, it seems if you download a torrent and save its path directly to a NAS drive, it has issues saving the entire files in places and causes errors.
