Re: Mojo for the SMP. (Updated 11-07-11)

I believe someone else fixed the problem by using a different browse than IE9.

Give a man a Bundle and he'll be able to create moviesheets for one theme. Teach a man to setup Thumbgen and he'll be able to create moviesheets for any theme. If something doesn't work, read the instructions. If it still doesn't work READ the instructions again.

i dont think the reflection (aka png) works on wdtv streamer, even changed to jpg and it was very ugly what came up on the ui lol but apart from that not working (maybe future firmware) its a welcome change this theme.

its defo the same problem you described in the HUB firmware, pngs not working , wrong size of thumbs etc etc, WD better get firmware release out to fix this, why is it with every WD media product the firmware is terrible.

Re: Mojo for the SMP. (Updated 11-09-11)

Hi,

I’m a n00b and am working through deploying Mojo and using Thumbgen for to set up moviesheets and metadata.

I’ve managed to get everything functional and have started testing out Thumbgen on some of my videos.  I have a few questions.

What is stored in /.wd_tv?  Thumbgen stores moviesheets and XML metadata together with the content.  What is the device putting in .wd_tv ?  If I use Thumbgen for all my metadata can/should I disable the WD TV content fetching?  I notice people have said to delete .wd_tv, obviously the device can re-build the data - do I need to allow scraping for this or will it use what I generated from Thumbgem?

Thanks

Re: Mojo for the SMP. (Updated 11-09-11)

The .wd_tv folder is used to cache things such as the thumbnails.  You shouldn't have to worry about the .wd_tv folder unless you run into a problem of the SMP not displaying the thumbs or not updating new thumbs when you change them.

There is nothing to disable on the SMP for fetching the data, you just don't use it.  Also the SMP will not scrap the data unless you use the "Get info" function and this has to be done manually.  When you use Thumbgen you are using it rather than using the "Get info" function.

Give a man a Bundle and he'll be able to create moviesheets for one theme. Teach a man to setup Thumbgen and he'll be able to create moviesheets for any theme. If something doesn't work, read the instructions. If it still doesn't work READ the instructions again.

Re: Mojo for the SMP. (Updated 11-09-11)

Thanks for the quick response.

The SMP has a Get Content Info setting which can be set to ‘Auto’, which I understand means it will fetch it in the background without having to use ‘Get Info’.

When I used Auto some of my content was mislabelled.  So I want to use Thumbgen for 100% control.  After that sounds like I delete .wd_tv (or clear the Media Library, is it the same thing?) and it will rebuild the cache from what I’ve downloaded using Thumbgen.

Presumably then it doesn’t matter whether I set Get Content Info to Auto or Manual, as there’ll be nothing to collect if I’ve done it all with Thumbgen.

Cheers,

Re: Mojo for the SMP. (Updated 11-09-11)

Well, that's good to know.  As I've said I don't have the SMP (only the HUB) and the auto setting is not an option on the HUB.

To be on the safe side, I would set it to Manual, this way you don't have to worry about the SMP overwritting your data that you get with TG.  I say this because it depends on whether the SMP caches user supplied data, I know the HUB doesn't cache user xmls, so setting it to manual will keep it from trying to overwrite your supplied data.

[ Edited ]

WIll the "Darklight" Mojo be available for the SMP, too!? Or "only" for the Hub!?

Another Question. I'll try the WDTVLIVEHubGen 2.1. This creates with the first start the  '.%moviename%.backdrop' directory with all downloaded images. While viewing  the moviesheet , the WD SMP changes the backgrounds and the static overlay (with rating starts, overview,  and so on...) always keep fix and static (well!).

Viewing the same way with the ThumbGen created files,  the generated moviesheet (jpg with the static info like rating starts, overview,  and so on...) and the backdop images alternate

Is this behavior by design?

EDIT:

Find the answer myself: in the Thumbgen xml  there exist: "<backdrop>96 Hours (2009)_sheet.jpg</backdrop>" So only 1 Background?
