Global refund program for SMP customers?

To the WD staff hopefully reading this forum,

The SMP is about halfway through its product cycle, but after a series of failed firmware versions, the SMP is still unable to deliver on its promises. 1080p MKV's still can't be streamed from samba shares at 24p refresh rate without stuttering and network exhaustion. Personally this is my main concern, but a ton of other bugs also persist and new ones are introduced with every firmware release. Reading this forum paints a clear picture of the mess that WD has gotten themselves into.

A responsible business should always acknowledge its own limitations. Holding off frustrated customers with empty promises, for months, is a really bad idea, WD.

So, maybe it is time for WD to face reality and admit defeat? Since we, the customers, have been made to wait for bug fixes for our broken devices, for months, most dealers legal refund obligations have expired. In Denmark, where I live, dealers are reguired by law to refund within two weeks - if the product is still new and unused. This is, of course, not the case with my SMP, since WD has led me to believe that the device would be fixed. So I am practically stranded with this useless device.

I am not alone.

How about it, WD? A simple and fast international return/refund program for SMP owners, so they can spend their hard earned cash on alternative products that actually work?
