Rewind in WD is slow. Should be an option 30, 60 and 90 second skip on remote control.

big +1

My iomega media harddisk has this too and it's so **bleep** useful. It skips +30 and -10.

Making them different has one major advantage: If you want to skip 20 seconds you press right and left. So it goes +30-10  = 20.

This is an excellent idea. I would actually use mine if it had this.

An excellent idea. I was very surprised when I first started using the box and couldn't find that functionality. Al least some of the video files have the 10 min skip, I haven't found anything for accelerated audio navigation through long podcasts. Hopefully WD will correct this obvious oversight.

hmm so can we hope for some kind of implementation soon then? i feel 30sec & 5min(up-down & left-right buttons) will be able to satisfy most if not everyone...

Yes please! That is the only feature I really really miss in comparison to my old media player!

Yes, I would like this too and requested it a while ago: http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Streaming-Ideas/Skip-forward-back-a-few-configurable-seconds-...

But it was never "Acknowledged".  It still doesn't give me the impression that this will be implemented anytime soon (if ever)...

Excellent idea... Looking for this...

  • Right button =  +30/60 seconds (skip-forward)
  • left navigation key=  -30/60 seconds (skip-rewind)

and the time should be adjustable from the settings menu....

I'm hoping this idea will be picked up soon.

Switched from AC Ryan HD mini 2 to WD Live a couple of months ago because of live updating (without USB stick) on the WD Live.

WD Live has a major drawback not being able to skip / rewind easily. Specially when you're streaming bigger movies. Fast forward and rewinding is way to slow.
