The Alphabet - Ignore 'A', 'An', 'The', 'Les', 'Das', etc

I currently edit me XML files so that my films show up alphabetically.

So, 'An American Werewold in London' becomes  'American Werewold in London, An', whilst 'Das Boot' becomes 'Boot, Das' and 'The Birds' becomes 'Birds, The'.

So, all of my films now appear in the correct place alphabetically, but let's face it, some of them just don't look right.

Any chance these terms can be ignored when sorting alphabetically?

I would like to see this as well. It's not a deal breaker, but it would make the experience a little more streamlined and polished.

please sort this i have the same problum with some films all over the place say like fast and furuis 1 to 5 but there all over the place

+1 please allow support for folders as well, so that "The XXX" is sorted under "XXX" when browsing network shares.

As a previous XBMC user, this is one of the features that I miss the most.  I dislike having so many of my movies grouped together that start with the word 'The'.  Also, I'm not sure if WD TV currently supports it, but XBMC supports a sort field in its metadata file.  So, for example, you could sort all of the Star Wars movies in the proper order by naming them 'Star Wars 1', 'Star Wars 2', etc. in the sort field.  The sort field wouldn't be visible in the UI, it would only be used for special sorting purposes.

It seems rather silly that this feature isn't an option.  Please, WD, make this a feature!  My only worry would be how it orginizes the band, "The The".
