It would be great if we could scape content on NAS devices and have it all in one central place.  The manual for this thing makes it sound like this should be working but it does not.

I think adding these two services would put this box on alot more peoples radar and in turn sell you many more units

I suggest that WD Developers that we include an option for USER THEMES just like we have on WDTV LIVE HUB product

I am hoping that the Themes can be loaded off Local USB drives into WDTV LIVE Streaming Media's Flash storage for displaying them consistently across reboots when USB drive is ejected but the user supplied theme remains in the memory of the device.

A Factory reset would delete the USER Supplied Theme.

Please consider this Idea.

unfortunately there is no way to control the volume, which is really necessary because volume level is very different between e.g. MP3 and dolby. It's really unusual for a multimedia player, even CD/DVD/MP3/SAT receivers... and many more devices have a volume control. I don't use the player directly on TV nor on AV receiver, I use it with active speakers mounted on the wall, where I can not reach the speakers volume control.

So, please introduce a volume control with some of the next firmware updates. I know, that there is no key on the remote, but I use a logitech harmony, so I can map the RC code for volume control to the harmony. In the Live's player setting menu the key-mapping for volume control should be user-defined.

Not sure if this is even possible but it would be good if we could somehow mark any tv shows or movies to indicate that they have already been watched.

Add the ability to sort and use the Media library over NFS Network shares, Not just SAMBA.

The fact that the WD TV is truly just going into standby mode means the hard drive does not lose power completely and enters into standby as well. A full shut down of the hard drive would be desireable.

Would be great to have a 'Service' that streams movie trailers.  Something like in the Apple TV device or the plug-ins XBMC supports.

First off thank you for such a great product as the WDTV Live, I love how it plays everything I want it to play. I originally had the WDTV Gen 1 and the only thing I didn't like was the user interface and Movie sheets thumbnails or should I say lack of customizing options available. Then came B-Rad and then I had a great media player and it looked great on my TV as well.

But alas the gen 3 Version of the WDTV Live is not customizable with custom firmware (not yet anyway). And even worse WD has not picked up this idea and allowed us to put in our own designs for the user interface and thumbnails and moviesheet display.

People these days want to customize their products to how they would like them to look and this is easily possible as it has already been done before so why not with this version.

C'mon Guys get with the program and become leaders again not followers. You have a great product and beat your rivals hands down, so don't stop innovating listen to what is being said and give us an even better product.

It's great you came out with a Remote app that we can use to control the WD TV Live Streaming unit, however not everyone is an Apple fanboy, and with Android devices (and market share) now surpasing that of iOS, it makes sense to have an Android-compatible WD TV Remote App available also.

I want WD to give us the possibility to download coverarts and descriptions from IMDB.COM for our movie collection. It could be work by pressing "options"-button on our remote control to download what we want to.

In the media library manager I am only able to add 1 share per NAS to have autoscanned for new content.  Ths should be expanded.  Alot of people don't want to index their entire NAS to the media library because of some of the content on it so I just scan my movies share folder and cartoons share folder on each NAS.

Sometimes the next video will play, but is random and not often, most of the time it plays current video then goes back to the menu. I am also aware that playing a folder will play all the files in that folder, but when watching tv shows I rarely want to start at the first episode in the folder.

So I'd like the option to continue playing all the files in the folder after which ever one is first chosen.

It would be great to add a night mode option in future firmware. I often watch movies at night and I don't want to disturb my sleepping household members  When the Night Mode option is enabled, low-level audio content such as dialog can be increased making it more comfortable to hear at low volume levels while at the same time reducing the intensity of higher-level audio content.

be nice to be able use Iphone/android phone to replace the remote, certainly better for typing etc - since it's on the network you could in theory

If you use the Audio and SubTitle buttons on the remote, the features change, but you don't really know what you're selecting as there is no visual que indicating language or options selected.  Visual indicators are needed.

Changing audio and subtitle options via the Options button provides a minimal que, but you can only select an option once.  If it's not the one you want, you have to hit Options again, then the audio or subtitle menu again, and again, and again to cycle thru all the options or turn it off.  Suggest that if you select Options and Audio or Subtitles, the left/right buttons would allow you to scroll thru the options with visual que, similar to what the WDTV Live Plus did.

Can you please enable native support for moviesheets.  Adding a feature like this would turn this device into a decent competitor to XBMC and Plex in terms of GUI.
