Netflix Locks up No Response

I had upgraded to the 1.07.15 firmware but netflix still locks up. I can watch about 1 show and he device becomes unresponsive. I have to do a hard reboot. I tried the 1.07.18 today with the same result. I know that the FAQ did not address this issue with the new firmware but I was hopeful. I did not have this issue with the 1.06 firmware that I had originally. But I am also unable to roll back to this firmware. This issue is annoying as this is one of the main reasons I purchased the device.

I have done a factory reset, removed the hard drive. Tried wired and wireless connections. All other applications on the device work fine. I can stream Netflix with both my computer and my Vizio Blu-Ray plaher without any issue at all. I am connected Through HDMI and Optical Audio. It does the same with the composite connections. This issue needs to be resolved.

Looks like these people totally lost control over their firmware. Ever since the "upgrade" to 1.07.15 the unit has been essentially unusable. Kept prompting for login credentials for Netflix - and now it hangs trying to load a movie! When not in use for a few days the unit hangs up and cannot be woken up by remote - has to be manually power cycled. After using one service cannot use another without power cycling. This is just totally ridiculous.

The same problem here. Netflix is THE reason to have a streaming device. This is really bad. If this does'nt get fixed soon I will never buy anything from WD again.

I have the same problems.  I am about to throw both of them away and the problem is getting worse by the day.

Playing local movies are not a problem.  Netflix will start to play a movie then tell me I am not registered.  A movie will start to load then freeze.  When I try to exit, half the time it freezes up and I have to pull the power plug.

Hi all,

Just registered on the forum to add on to the list of unsatisfied customers.

Netflix keeps on asking me to reactivate. When it's not that its seems that I lose the internet connection and therefore need to exit netflix, go to settings and reconnect to internet.

Just FYI, I have a great routeur with 5 Channels and instant reconnect so my guess is that it's coming from the box...

April is ending soon is the fix promised for mid-April going to be released?

Also having the same problem. Rolled back firmware to 1.06.04. No lockups but still have to enter credentials at least once a day. This is a big problem for me. We got this unit for my elderly father so he could watch Netflix. He can't remember the username and password or work the on screen keyboard. I can't be here to enter it for him constantly. PLEASE fix this soon.

 To WD Support Team,

I have the same problem losing Netflix credentials as well.

I also have a second unit, WDTV Live Hub and it does not have this issue, only on the WDTV Live Streaming unit this happens.

WD Support, please fix this annoying issue, I can't beleive it's been this long that this issue has been around  and still no resolution.

Thank you.

I'm having the same problem I think after upgrading to the latest 1.07.18 I have to unplug and plug it back in to hopefully watch netflix if not after electing play it give the progress bar which goes about 1/3 of the way and then it hangs and eventually it says reactive netflix and I have to enter my username and password again. Most of the time a power cycle will allow me to watch movie etc but the next day (after doing a soft power off) I can't watch netflix. This is really annoying - is something being done about this?

Can anyone help. I have had a WD HDMI media player for a coupe of weeks.

Everything was going fine untill today when it simply will not work on my televison.

I can still move files across from my laptop, and the blue light is on and running ok etc. But when i try to play back on the TV through an HDMI cable it does not even show the home screen?

It also seems that the signal from the remote is not being recieved by the media drive.

Any ideas?

Netflix locks up on me, but only when the SMP has the Media Library turned on with Get Content set to Auto. I am not sure if the device just gets pegged and hangs or what, as the Media Library has nothing to do with Netflix. If WD needs to duplicate the problem, that might be a start...
