No media streaming possible since 1.08.17 update

Which firmware were you using? 1.08.17

What exactly happened?  stopped streaming media from my Windows 7 PC both as a media share with Twonky Server and as a network share

What you were doing? streaming media

What hardware and media were you using?  WD TV Live and all media types tried MP4, MKV, AVI 

Does it happen every time?  Yes

Does it happen with previous firmware? NO 

Does power cycling the unit solve it?  NO

Does resetting to factory defaults solve it? NO 

Have you tried this on other devices? YES.  I have 3 older WD TV Live Plus units - all are working fine today.  The WD TV Live Streaming Media Player stopped working yesterday with the firmware upgrade

One other comment for clarification - I can navigate to the videos and audio files just fine either as a network share or media share.  It is just when I select one to play that it moves to the screen with the rotating yellow arrow indicating the video is loading.  After a few seconds, the screen goes grey and the arrow continues to rotate.  After maybe five minutes, the screen saver comes up. 

 

This is the case with any file type of any size - and is directly opposite my experience before this firmware upgrade when everything had worked flawlessly since buying the box for Xmas.
