It would be TERRIFIC if we could create bookmarks inside movies so we can jump to our favorite scenes.  Adding on to the this, the ability to create montages (from a selection of bookmarks maybe?) would be nice!

I have a Samsung smart TV. It is connected to the home network , and I can see the wd media center. i can view and access all the things ive got saved on it.  its not very user friendly kind of like dos really. 

can you guys creat an app for the smart tv where the media center can be accessed over the network and its ultra user friendly. just like the media canter controls infact , but as an app on the tv.

 

so for the front room i can use the hdmi connection to watch the program. then upstairs in the bedroom i can use the wired network to stream films. 

I am a fairly new user of Verizon's HomeFusion service - but have had connectivity issues. We went through extensive troubleshooting and almost came to the point of terminating the service. My issue was that every 50 minutes the connection would fail, a new I.P. address would be assigned and reconnect. This would only take about a second or two but would play havok with webinars and Virtual Desktop connections. Verizon's Network Troubleshooting team got involved and using detailed logs from my system as well as a network trace on their end found the problem - A source I.P. address Violation. It appears that a device with a network address of 10.8.12.249 ( A non-routable I.P. address but not part of my internal address range of 192.168.1.1 was connecting through the system to an external I.P. address of 169.254.3.245. Since the I.P. address was not part of the source I.P. address range supported by my router it terminated the connection. This is for security purposes.

I gave my home PC a static I.P. address in the same range as the rogue device and ran an I.P. scan.

It found the WDTVLive Hub!

I disconnected the wired connection of the TVLiveHub and the 50 minute disconnects stopped. I re-connfigured the network connection and tried again. No issues at all with it renewing the 192.168.1.20 address that it uses. I verified the connection and the ability to access external sites and waited. The failures started back up. Every 50 minutes like clock-work. It appears that the device has two I.P. addresses - one in the assigned range and a 2nd of it's own making. I then disabled the Mobile Access Option and the problem disappeared.

My request of WDC is that they provide a firmware update that uses the static or DHCP assigned I.P. address for all network activity to external sites. This will allow me to reconnect the Mobile Access Option.

I will be posting this same information on the Verizon Social Community site so that other HomeFusion users can either avoid the WDTVLiveHub or disable the Mobile Access Option.

Need a button to go to dvd root menu.

Some dvd have loads of previews in them want to bypass all and go either to title menu or root menu.

I know I know i can edit the video_ts.ifo flie to bypass or re-rip for movie only. by why not have a single button to go to ether root menu or title mene  (1 or 2 button??)

 

Also what about slow motion support.  Once pause is pressed the up arrow or down arrow cycle thru 1/2, 1/4, 1/8  slow motion play

Actually, playing video, when they starts, a on screen message about audio type and subs type is automatically diplayed for 7''. the message appears each time a new video is played in sigle mode and in playlist mode. I find  this message disturbing sometimes. it will be better,  in a new release of firmware, give the opportunity to customers to switch off it and let it appear only if subtitles and audio buttons are pressed. Thank you.

I love the Music Preset Keys but why are there no Preset Keys allowed in the Video Playback and Queue Menus. I'd like to be able to set up a Queue of a bunch of Videos and be able to jump to specific ones. This would be very handy for music videos and when using the device as a playback unit at live events. I would also like to see this in the Video Playback Menu as well.

I would like a visualizer style screensaver. I listen to a lot of Pandora and would love something to look at instead of WD floating around or pictures. The example below is from iTunes and would be on the extreme side. Just something basic to start with would be awesome, then other people might have input. 

 

 

There are currently many view options to display video folders/files -- e.g. preview view, grid view, list view, gallery view -- but I still miss a thumbnail view (showing only a thumbnail/picture for each folder/file instead of a current combination of a picture/thumbnail and a text).

Something similar to a bottom row of a gallery view (similar to how services as Netflix, Vudu, CinemaNow present their movies, etc.). If there would three rows of 7 files/folders per row, the screen can accomodate 14 files/folders or maybe even 21 files/folders at once in a thumbnail view.

Sometimes when i am watching a film and the phone rings or the door bell goes i have to pause the film.

 

When i am watching a film and i do have to pause it, I prefer not to know how long is left because its spoils it for me knowing when the film is going to comclude.

 

I would like the option, in the video setup to enable or disable the info bar.

The idea of an xml subtitle is very interesting, the usf still not widespread, but WD could take some advantage on that.

I believe that could be the future of the captioning because its format and configuration\customization is very simple and wide.

Please add the ability to select Favourites, Select a Favourite, Select Menu and have "Refresh" be an option.

So, the idea is istead of press the AUDIO and wait to hear in what language will change the movie, my idea is to press the AUDIO button and make appear a Drop-Down Menu that shows a List of the audios that the movie has, with the info like:

 

AUDIO MENU:

> ENGLISH - DTS - 640kbps

> SPANISH - AC3 - 640kbps

> ETC.

 

and the ability to  navigate through the menu and select the Audio that you want istead of navigate to each one to reach the wanted.

 

 

There are quite a lot of services included in offical firmware , but a lot of service is not able to run in some country ( such as  china) , so strongly suggest WD to add function to allow user add user defined IMS service on next firmware for LIVE HUB.
