Hello,

across several firmware version, I experience the following issue with the Maxdome Player:

What I do:

- I purchase and start a movie in the Maxdome player

- I press "Pause" on my remote to stop the movie (at no particular time - can be anywhere in the movie)

- I press "Play" to continue the movie

What happens:

- When the movie starts to play again, the movie plays only for about 10 seconds and the complety restarts

This is a bit annyoing, as you have to search for the exact position / chapter again, where the movie was paused initially.

I do have the latest firmware installed but did experience this issue with all previous firmware versions. So far, I probably made 3-4 firmware updates. Internet connection is fine - even HD movies play with problem.

Would be great if you could fix this issue soon.

Thank you

Tom

last.fm scrobble support

Status: New
by Wednesday

please, add the capability to update a last.fm account  when we listen to music stored on the Live Hub.

It would be cool to have moviesheet support also for network drives (NFS and SMB). At the moment there is only support for external drives. For NFS shares the WD TV Live has already write access (i can delete files and move them), but I can't search for movie covers / infos.

Is there some reason why in the UK we can't have ITV Net Player, 4 On Demand and 5 On demand services as well as the BBC's iPlayer?????

There must be otherwise what reason would there be that we don't have them?

(should this be addressed to the accountant's department and/or the IT department??)

UK  users are being short changed here?

Please can you either do it or tell us why you aren't doing it?

It would be useful to be able to access local Slingboxes without having to login via the Internet; this capability is present in the SlingPlayer for Windows.  Sometimes the WDTV Slingplayer gets confused and doesn't seem to realize that my Slingbox is local and accesses it by going out to the internet and coming back (with degraded bandwidth as a consequence); I have noticed that many others have had this issue as well.

My main use for the WDTV Live is the Slingplayer (as a SlingCatcher is hard to purchase and those that are available are ridiculously priced).  At my cottage, I have no internet but do have a local network but cannot access my Slingbox using the WDTV Live as it wants to login to the internet.

The ad for WD TV play was anouncing a Web-Browser on the WD TV play and the salesman in the shop also underlined that this box gives an access to the internet. This is just not true, since the access to the internet is rather limited to the services WD implemented. So my idea and urgent demand is that WD staff implements the zattoo.com services. This gives the access (if you subscribe and pay) to TV broadcasts 30 (!) days back.

At the beginnig of a video the wdtv displays audio and subtitle in the left uper corner. The subtitle shows the language of the subtitle but the audio only shows its format like DTS oder AC3. I thini this Information isn´t as important as the language of audiostream played. could you change the display of audio format to audio language?

Sometimes I watch a movie for 4 minutes until someone starts to speak in it in french which I don´t understand. I have to change the language, go back in time and try again.

Dear WD,

You have many customers in the Nordic countrys. I have two WDTV SMP and are considering throwing them away for the Samsung Homesync only for this reason:

I want from the same box stream my local content (WD TV got it!) and use Netflix (WD TV got it!) and minimum the other big providers in the Nordic countries:

- Viaplay

- HBO Nordic

You should also support from Norway:

- NRK (Free online, shouldnt be difficoult)

- TV2 Sumo (Many solutions already on the market)

I suppose Swedish and Danish customers have simmilar demands. When the Samsung Homesync gets out we`ll get all this via Android market. There are also Mini PCs avaible that are strong enaugh to stream Silverlight and Flash (Zbox) and local HD content. (Atom only did local HD content).  Please give me a reason to stay with you?

Please add the ability to play lossless WavPack - .WV files. Details here:

http://www.wavpack.com/

give the user slow motion and frame by frame functions. Make the pause mode crystal clear, no info bar or screen darkening ruining the effect, this occurs on youtube mode showing an unnecessary and annoying menu when the user wants merely to excercise more control over the play mode. Get rid of the youtube leanback, it's rubbish, and so is the new GUI, the old screens were better by far and the keymap is reminiscent of sinclair spectrum graphics and much too small, neither does it follow the wdtv theme design. Leanback is also too time consuming to navigate and control, the old version was far superior. Improve the USB connections as file transfers take forever over the home network, USB 3.0 is now well established therefore there is no excuse not to take advantage of the opportunity to upgrade. Include firewire socket on the next version and allow the use of usb hubs or simply add more sockets, removing the front socket as users find this unsightly and an untidy way to connect. After a reset, the drive indexing takes a distressingly long time to complete, increase the memory caches on the next version to process bigger data chunks and achieve faster times. To avoid users havng to physically disconnect the power cable, potentially damaging the socket or cable, add a power interrupt button to the rear panel and a reset button that does not require an unwound paper clip to operate. How annoying to live in a home devoid of paper clips when one has to reset the unit several times per week, as is the norm.

Gapless Audio Playback AT LEAST ONLY for multitrack lossless files

Status: New

In the community for several years, there is the idea of a Gapless Audio Playback.

http://community.wdc.com/t5/WD-TV-Live-Streaming-Ideas/Gapless-Audio-Playback/idi-p/270488

And I totally agree with that. Has passed for too long time and I am afraid that eventually we get nothing.
I realize that there are difficulty to remove the pause
between the different kinds of audio files.
If you can not make Gapless playback for all kinds of music files
I suggest limited to files described below.
So, I mean, multitrack lossless files only - FLAC + CUE, APE + CUE, WAV + CUE.
In multitrack lossless files not have a pauses between tracks.
Pause between tracks artificially created after running the CUE file.
I suggest that you run the Cue file, each track individually displayed
and can be played without pauses wholly.

I'd like to watch IP-TV via WD TV Live Steaming. Could you do this

I am a newcomer to this and this idea may be unworkable or obvious or there may be other problems with it.  My apologies in advance to the old pros here if this is an old idea.

I recently bought a WD TV Stream Play media player.  It is pretty neat but the HMI is a little rough and sluggish.  It still seems like a good value for the money, though.

I am using it primarily to access my Tivo at my other house via a SLINGBOX 500.  I was able to hack my way through discovering how they were implementing most but not all of the normal Tivo remote buttons.

I was wondering why for the Tivo - and possibly for other similar devices - they don't implement an IR forwarding mode.  The user could choose that mode as a start-up default or through some WD TV remote options.

This IR forwarding mode would allow the user to use a real Tivo remote (or other programmed universal remote) to control the Tivo through the WD TV Play - commanding the SLINGBOX to just recreate the IR signals the WD TV Play is receiving from the real remote.

If properly implemented this would allow a user with a spare Tivo remote to really interact with his distant Tivo box like he was sitting in front of it - using his familiar (spare) Tivo remote.

There would be no translation necessary.  I would bet that most people who are using a Tivo have a spare Tivo remote left from the last generation Tivo box that they replaced.

This seems like it would be a great thing - to allow WD TV Play users to use their substantial, familiar Tivo remote to command their distant Tivo via the WD TV Play --> Internet --> SLINGBOX 500 --> Slingbox IR sender --> distant Tivo box route.

This same strategy would probably be a good one for most any device that the WD TV Play accesses that is usually controlled with an IR remote.  The user could use a spare dedicated remote or a universal remote.

This "IR forwarding mode" seems like it would solve a lot of the problems mentioned here - since it could be like having a native remote controlling the distant device.

Since the update, launching a movie from the WD TV took about one and half minute. It was boring. With the advice of WD Support (Thanks Rafal) i did the rollback to the previous update and now launching takes a few seconds. It's a bug in the new release. You can find the instruction for rollback here :http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5800/p/208,299/session/L3RpbWUvMTM2Njg3NjUzOC9zaWQvW...

Excuse my poor english, i'm a froggy french. :smileywink:

If you have a lot of movies on your hard disc (>100) and you want to navigate to a movie starting with the letter in the mid of the alphabet you have to push the arrow key many times. I would suggest to introduce a new filter that groups the available Movies by the letter.

I love my WD Live box and use it often. I would love to see TheBlaze as a new channel update.  Theblaze.com

Sort by disk modification date

Status: New

When sorting film list on the WD Live, system takes the film's date. Then if we want to sort by modification date on the external disk (in order to have only recent additions) it is not possible. Please add this option in the sort feature.

Media Library search for all media content within an USB unit, a shared folder, etc. Why don't add the possibility to exclude specific folders? (before or after the scan is indifferent)

I know you can rename the folder putting a dot before the folder's name, however, doing so, the WD TV cannot browse that folder, not even using with the FILE menu.

Thanks

Add E-Reader and Comic Reader

Status: New
by 4 weeks ago

I have two WD TV Lives one is connected to my Slingbox as a source for streaming all of my media no matter where I may be at and the other is used to connect to my Epson projector which I use out in our backyard. I would love to see you add support for ebooks a reader that would support mobi or epub perhaps you could get something going on with Kindle but a generic reader would also be fine with me. I would also like to see a comic book reader/viewer that supports both cbr and cbz files. Thanks for listening
